Ancestral skins
The drawing, known as "Ancestral Skins", embodies the act of shedding or transforming by leaving behind the thought patterns created by patriarchal systems that no longer work. The pressure of the past and future, expectations, religion, and polarization are like mental viruses. In this work, I break the static nature of the metal systems that govern society by allowing the body to expand, be hairy, be voluptuous, and be erotic, while the charcoal strokes represent the present moment of the action. Because in the end our physical body, our skin, is the first to feel those dysfunctional emotions and thoughts reflected.
